As deputies searched for car parts, they found the two in the 8-by-10-foot crate that had one side missing. Inside the crate were two vehicle bench seats, two small blankets, scattered trash and thin wires.Jackson County detectives were serving a search warrant for an alleged stolen car operation in the caves on the city's east side Thursday when they found the children, alone, in the 8-by-10-foot crate furnished with vehicle bench seats. Prosecutors say the children were poorly clothed, barefoot and covered in dirt, and the younger one was eating from a cup of dry ramen noodles. Deputies arrested the children’s mother, 24-year-old Brittany Mugrauer, on Friday.Mugrauer was not in the cave when detectives found the children alone Thursday and later told them she had been living in the cave for several days, the statement said.She remained in jail Saturday, and the prosecutor's office said it will seek a $75,000 (£48,600) bond.The children were taken to hospital for examination and to get bathed and dressed in clean clothing.
